How We Negotiate Pay

We believe in collective bargaining to ensure fair wages for all public sector employees. NTL advocates for nationwide negotiations and is ready to use strike action as a last resort. Our goal is a secure job, livable wages, and a positive working environment.

Membership Terms and Conditions

The NTL membership fee is 1.1% of your income, typically deducted directly from your salary.
As part of your membership, you are required to pay a premium for the mandatory LOfavør home contents insurance. Additionally, you can choose to purchase optional insurance coverage, including LOfavør travel insurance and legal insurance for complete coverage. Check insurance premium costs here.

Union membership fees are tax-deductible. The current deduction limit is 8,000 NOK.

Student Membership Benefits

As a student, you pay only 250 NOK for the entire duration of your studies (up to a maximum of 5 years). This fee includes mandatory home contents insurance and optional legal insurance at no extra cost. To qualify for this special rate, your income must not exceed the income limits set by the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund.
