Who can become a member?
Anyone who works as an employee or as an apprentice for in a company that NTL organizes or who studies in a university or college of higher education in Norway can become a member.

Methods of payment and sharing of details with employers
Most employers will deduct the membership fee from your salary and transfer the amount to us collectively for all their employees. To achieve this, lists containing active members are shared with employers every month, to ensure that the correct amounts are deducted.

As a consequence, membership in NTL is as a general rule not kept secret to the employer. If you don't want your employer to know that you are a member of NTL you must make this clear at the time of entry. However, if the membership is to remain secret, NTL cannot represent you in negotiations, and it will make union activity in the workplace more difficult in general. Secret membership will therefore only be accepted under special circumstances.
